849, need your opinions....
Posted by whodatt1, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
I'm thinking about buying 18x7.5" Konig Rated-R wheels and wrapping them in 225/40R18 yokohama Parada tires... My car is not lowered or anything. I can get them for $1,232 plus shipping.
Any input would be appreciated (better sizes, better looking rims, etc)... thanks!

Sounds good to me bro. I'd get something like that also, but the roads are pretty bad here. I ended up going with 16" instead.

Your car will be a bit slower but it's totaly up to you whether or not you want looks or speed. BTW It isn't "R rated" it means rim size. EVERY tire has the R in it. The Speed rating is followed by the Rim size or sometimes the tire aspect ratio. I remember walking into a tire shop and looking like a complete moron when I asked for an r rated tire:).

don't try racing with that setup, those heavy rims and wide tires will hurt your acceleration.

Have you checked out www.rim1.com? I think they have good deals on Konig and ADR.

I found a site www.whalentire.com that sells the rims for $170 each.. that is the cheapest I have found them for.

I would get that setup in a second if i had the money. That's a great price to. Shipping will be a lot though. See if a local Tire and Wheel shop will meet that price.
