Hi all..got a 99 gs 10th anniversary I picked up at the auction and when driving straight with steering wheel strait or turning left a bit or alot it makes kind of a noise that sounds like your brakes are loww and scratching against rotors but it is only coming from the right front wheel..the funny thing tho is that if I turn even a 1/2 inch or more to the right the noise stops and car sounds fine..no more noise..once the steering wheel is straight or to the left again the noise starts..this is when driving in any gear any speed brakes are good. Any ideas??..taking look at the car on a lift I didn't notice anything wrong. tia

I would take off each wheel and inspect the brakes for wear, and also check the wheel bearings. You should be able to turn the wheel by hand and not hear any kind of noises. Grasp the front rotor, and try and move it up and down, trying to see if there is any play anywhere. Use some good force when doing this. Nothing should move barely at all. Try and push/pull the rotor too, this will kind of check the wheel bearings. Check the CV joint boot, and be sure its not torn open. Other than that, I'm not too sure. Just check the obvious stuff first like the above.

I am having the same problem. But mine is a rythmic squeak. I think it's the front right wheel. It all started after some off-roading(unintentional).If you find the problam can you tell me what it is??? thanks.
