Hello, in the process of removing my spindle/hub/axle assembly to have the axle pressed out, I popped the boot on the ball joint at the tie rod end. I also needed to use a propane torch on the knuckle to get the joint to seperate. This totally demolished the boot. The rubber portion of the boot is completely gone, and all that remains in the ball joint is the aluminum ring that holds the boot in place. I have a replacement boot ready to install, and the special tool that is called for in it's installation. I can't, however, for the life of me, figure out how to remove the metal portion of the old boot. Any ideas?

Well, one more <bump>, then I just replace the end. 25 dollars. That's it. Gotta finish this project. Hopefully tomorrow.
