8177, Has anyone installed a camber kit by themselves? Posted by nappyjim, Mar-31-02 12:27 PM I've noticed a lot of you install ur springs by urself, but what about camber kits? I heard from somsone on this board that he couldent install them and he installed his own springs. Anyone ever do it? Thanks | |

8178, RE: Has anyone installed a camber kit by themselves? Posted by XtremeRS, Mar-31-02 01:59 PM Very easy!! If you can do the springs, then you sure as hell can do the camber kits. In the front, you don't even have to take off the tires. Lift the front end off the ground, and you have room to work with. There are 2 nuts under the hood on the shock tower to take off, and then you can pull down the upper control arm assembly, swing it out towards you, and then take off the 2 conrol arm bushings and the "legs" that you just pulled out of the fender. The ingalls camber kit will replace the legs and bushings with adjustable bushings, so you can move the control arm outward to get more positive camber. It really is very easy. Once you see it, you will agree. I'd say it took me about 15 minutes per side in the front. The rears are just as simple... | |

The one thing is, GO TO AN ALIGNMENT SHOP RIGHT AWAY. When I first put them on I lined up the suspesion by eye and when I backed out the car turned around by itself. I had to re-adjust it and was able to drive to the shop to get the alignment but it was pulling all over the road the whole way. | |
