7958, Tires rubbing or is it another problem?
Posted by SonicYan, Mar-25-02 02:41 PM
Ok, my car's now sitting really low cuz I just had Eibach Sportlines and Tokico Blues put in. (thanks sd_eclipse!!! Really cool hookup...). Now for the problem. Yesterday, when me and Dan were testing it out, we didn't hear any sounds. Well, it rubbed once, so Dan rolled my fenders a little. So I got home and that was that. Today, while driving, I hear this weird knocking sound. And this happens when I'm driving IN A STRAIGHT LINE. I dunno what it is. Anyways, here's a summary of what's suspension setup I have now:

Eibach Sportlines
Tokico Blues
Napa Rear Camber Kit
18 in. Enkei CDR9s, with Kumho 225/40/18.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hope there's a fix to this.
Thanks...

Heh, let me say this. This board sucks arse on dial up! I already miss my cable modem at home:( k, now to the prob.
Mikey did you hit a bump in the road of was it all just nice and smooth? If you have access to a jack, jack up the car and double check all the bolts to make sure they are tight. Especially the bolts that hold the camber kits to the frame. I torqued em to what the manual said so I don't think they would come loose but its a good idea to double check. Also, it would be a good idea to get your car in for an alignment.
I have my laptop with me so I'll check the board every now and then.
P.S - Damn those spring compressors!

Dood, hope ur hand's ok. Guess what, I figured out what the sound was. Did u remember if we ever tightened my lug nuts in the rear? Cuz THEY WERE FREAKIN LOOSE!!! Good thing they didn't come off the drive back home from SD. I had my car aligned and I told the guy to find out what the sound was. Finally we figured it out. Damn, I even lost one lug. Anyway, my rears are ok already, its the front that's kinda off. -1.7 on the left and -1.3 on the right. I wonder how long my tires will last with this. I still have to make an appointment with RRE to let them put in my front camber. I dunno if any other shops sell them around here and could put them on too. O well, now I have to adjust to another problem. Getting used to the lowness. Damn, now I'm one of those freakin people that take dips, ramps and speedbumps sideways. Hehe, join the crowd...
