Ok, I just recently (last night) installed some new rotors and pads. Well, after I installed them, I sat in the car and pumped the brakes a few times till the pedal built the pressure back up. Ok, so I go for a drive and I have to push it almost to the floor to stop. WTF?!??! I think I may have made a booboo, when I was compressing the piston, I didn't open the brake cylinder cap. could this have caused a MAJOR problem? I can stop, it's just annoying to push the pedal almost to the floor. I also get the slight smell of brake fluid when I stop. Any ideas?

Bleed the system and look for leaks.

you may need more fluid. check the resevoir and fill

I checked the resevoir..it's full. I think I may get them bled today. Any other ideas? If it were a busted line, I wouldn't have any brakes, correct?

nah if you had a leak you would have a soft pedal. in order for your pedal to completely fail due to a leak you would have to completely run out of fluid
