6970, Are those expensive tires worth it?

I was looking at some tires 235/40-17s and the prices are waaaaayyyy high. Then I was looking at some cheap tires, Kumo I think and they are alot cheaper...is it worth the money to get $$ tires when you don't even race or auto-x??

What are you going to do with those tires?
I think the price is only worth it if you're autocrossing or track racing. Even with drag racing, I'd just get all season radials and not worry about it.
