6594, do coilovers actually fit????????? Posted by drewcalli, Feb-09-02 02:47 AM
i was just looking at my stock spring and it looks like a flare spring (it widens as it goes up). my coilovers are a straight up spring and the spring itself is about 7 inch long. will they fit or do i need to get a coilover with a flare spring or just go with regular lowering springs? thanks

What brand coilovers you got? They should fit, I have Skunk2 coilovers and mine fit no problem. Plus I know there are allot of people on this board that have coilovers. They should fit!

A spring perch is there for the spring to sit on.... Struts arent made to have a coilover collar sitting on it and that is why you must take it off when using coilovers.

Well the main purpose is to lower the car. But instead of a regular spring you can adjust coilovers. With a regular spring you are set at on ride height. The coilovers give you the ability to change the ride height without swaping out springs.
