6547, Im missing 3 lug nuts Posted by xEclipsE RaceRx, Feb-07-02 03:32 AM
I bought my car used last november and I didnt pay attention to the lug nuts, well I just noticed that Im missing 2 lug nuts on the front driver side tire and 1 on the rear driver side tire. Well do I just go up to a autozone or sumthing and pick those 3 lug nuts up? I noticed that on the front driver side tire one of the 2 missin lug nut pegs are shorter than the other. Is that repairable?

If the stud (the thing the lug nut goes on) is stripped or short, you need new studs too. I would just take it to a tire shop and have them fix it. ANywhere from 40 to 70 bucks is what most people payed to fix it.

the studs from the dealer are like 1.50 a piece.... not to bad.... As far as your lug nuts are they for stock wheels or are they special lug nuts...

There stock, well the OZ racing rims that came with the 10th Aniversary edit. Would it be cheaper to just goto Mitsubishi or just goto a wheel shop? And run4crv said he went to Satan, who is that another forum member?

They are about $3.50 for each lug nut.
Just go wherever.

I paid 5 bucks for each of my studs because I got it from the dealer. Road Race said the OEM ones are stronger and better than the cheap aftermarket studs you can get for real cheap. They know what they're doing, so I would stick with OEM. Get the parts from the dealer, but their labor rates are too high so call around and ask for quotes and go to wherever is cheaper.

i work in a tire shop. we do this stuff like twice a day. someone usually strips out a stud and the mechanics come in and save our ass. it really doesn't matter where you get them if you goto a compitent garage than they should last you a good while. if you were adventurous you'd find out how to get a lug stud conversion for us so we could pimp out like the beamers and benzs do
