61, Squeeking strut assy ?
Posted by DarkOne, Nov-28-00 08:57 AM
Don't know why it started doing this, (if i did i wouldn't be posting, now, would i?) but about 500 miles after i installed my Tokico non-adjustables the rear passenger side started to squeek. Does anyone have an off-hand idea as to what could cause this assembly to squeek ? I've poked around under there, and the only thing i can see wrong is that the dust cover is (and always has been) a little off-center and is touching the strut. However, since it's a soft plastic, i can't see it producing the metallic squeek i'm hearing. Tokicos are gas struts, so again, i can't see a metallic squeel coming from those, either. Any ideas ?

Did you check any of the bushings on the suspencion because after i lowered my car i had a very similar problem and i replaced all of the bushings up front.

I'd check to make sure that everythign is tightened down right. Also could be the bushings. Good excuse to get polyurathane. Possible you got a bad strut too.
