5692, Stock OZ rims questions
Posted by damasta, Jan-16-02 12:06 PM
Alright I can get some OZ F1 rims that came with the 99 SE Eclipse. Anyway I wanna know:

1- are they lighter than my crappy 14" stockers?
2- if so, how much lighter?
3- $300 with good tires a good price?

TIA

dont know if they would be lighter than the 14's but i doubt it, as far as getting them for 300, thats a good price. I paid 400 for my gsx rims with tires. Make sure you take shipping into concern though cuz i paid 170 bucks to ship mine

I'm picking up the rims, no shipping. Anyone know the dimensions on the OZ's compared to the stock 14"s? Obviously the OZ's are 16" but how wide, and how wide are the 14"s?

i think the stock 14s are 5.5" wide and stock 16s are 6.0". the oz are probably 6.0"

I went to tirerack.com, selected Mitsubishi-Eclipse-1997 whatever, and click on OZ F1's 16" and they show up as 7.5 wide, is this accurate or are there different widths for the same rims? Wouldn't the offset have to be totally different on the stock OZ's (assuming they are actually 6" wide) compared to the tirerack.com OZ's? Either way I'm gettin' the rims. Oh and are 1997 GST rims just chrome versions of the 5 spoke GS rims? Or are they those AWESOME twin 5 spoke 17" rims? Or are those the GSX rims?

heres hy OZ rims for ya.
300 is a steal, i had to replace one after i dented the lip, and it was ~150$$.

they are light, but not super light. good handling performance mod.

i got nitto 450's on the rims, and luv the traction when it gets warm out.

all of oz's wheels come in several different width, i think you can go as far as 9" on the f1, it should say the size on the inner part of the rim though. the regular gs are 16 x 6, i would imagine at least 6.5 but i dno't know

No I dont have any pics of the GSX rims on the car yet, but it looks sweet as hell. My car club has a meet on the 26th and they take a whole bunch of pics and put them online so I will use that pic to show them to you guys. The twin spoke 5 star rims are the 17" GSX rims

$300 (Wheels & Tires)
Woow! That is so cheap.
I sold mine on eBay before Christmas Day, it was $410.00 (Wheels Only without Tires)
The stock OZ 16" rims has 46 in Offset and 6" in width.

Aiight, now would you get the OZ's (about 50% tread)or would you get 3G RX7 wheels for $350-400 with Nitto tires (almost 90% tread)? I'm leaning towards the RX7's because they have better tires, are 2 inches wider and a hell of a lot lighter, the only thing I don't like about the RX7's is the look, they could be so much better. Maybe I'll have them powdercoated black or gunmetal or something. What would you do?
