so i ordered metal masters brake pads (axxis) from ***. i try to install them by replacing the ones that were in there, the new ones were much thicker, and they were so thick, that when they were on the mounting bracket sitting beside the disc, i couldnt fit the caliper (thing in the middle of the brakes, has hose connected to it) over it. i took em off, and they are here next to me, im dissapointed.

any help, ideas

yea, its is not supposed to fit. You have to buy a brake caliper spreader. It is a tool to pushes the brake piston farther in the caliper so you can fit it over the new pads. I think you can rent one from autozone.

Yeah be sure to compress the caliper piston, I just used the butt end of hammer and pushed REALLY HARD to get it back in, or you can use a "C" clamp, or the one tool from autozone like mentioned above.

Yeah Sean just find something to push the caliper piston back in or else therer is no way you can get it to fit. Get a piece of wood and push really hard.

be carefull when bleeding your brakes. I would get some new bleed valve srews if i was you. Cause today while bleeding my brakes, the bleed screw cracked in half, with the threads still in the caliper. Now i have no idea how i am going to get it out.

Why would you bleed your brakes just to change pads?

I just wedged my 1/2" drive rachet in the little hole in the caliper and pushed the piston back that way. Really easy to do. Looks like that is why the hole is there.

i was changeing my lines to RRE SS lines too. and flushing to whole sytem with new performance fluid.

well you should bleed your brakes when you change pads. Before and after a race also :)
