Picked up a Ractive front strut bar for my 97 ESi...but when I installed it, the bar is covering the Engine Oil cap....do they usually cover it or did I put it on wrong?

Yup mine does too. Most of the bars do cover it, but there are some that don't. With mine, you can still wriggle off the oil cap slowly.

I have about 2 inches of space between the Bar and the oil cap. I just reach my fingers over the bar and spin the cap off and pull it up and then use a funnel to fill it.

mines like right on top of it.. so i just take off the strut bar.... gettting a diff one though so i wont have to mess with it no more..

Mine covers it but the bar has a raised section in it so u can get to the oil cap.

If it's too bad, disconnect one side of the bar. Then, spin the bar and re-attatch it. I can get mine off and use a funnel. It goes over the cap tho.

yeah some bars do get in the way.
that was a consideration when i bought mine.
the pilots and the tenzos do not get in the way.

I have a tenzo and it goes right over the top and there is about 2 inches from the oil cap to the bar. Cap comes right off and a funnel fits in there fine.

i just turn my bar 180 degree and reinstall it. no problem since.

The ones that cover the oil cap are for the turbo DSM's. I bought mine for the NT specifically, and it doesn't come anywhere close to the oil cap. It's a Matrix by the way, from Summit.

Mine is the same also. Sits about 2 inches above the oil cap and it offset a little in front of the oil cap. I can still reach down and get it off and just use a funnel to fill it up.
