What tire is the best size to go on 17" rims?
205/40/17 or 215/40/17 or..........ect.
I'm going to go with Yokahama Paradas

i would go with 215/45 or 215/50. I have 215/40 and the sidewall is too thin and rides bad and doesn't come close to filling the wheel wells. The stock GSX's come with 215/50

A 215/45 on a 17 inch rim is as close as you can get to stock diameter. It will be a tiny bit shorter than stock, but not enough to be a significant difference. The stock GSX size, 215/50, is a bit taller. Not too far off, but more than a 215/45.

I thought the tires on the RS were 14/70. If so proper plus sizing would make the tire size you need 17/40, thats what I plan on getting. I dont know if getting a 45 series tire will mess up your speedometer readings, but if it does im sure it wont be that bad.

I had 215 45's and sportlines on my 17's. Tires hit the fender wells badly. I even rolled them. So, I now have 205-40-17's.
