5, Strut bar question

Hi..I was just curious...I am pretty sure that the consensus for the best front strut tower bar is the Neuspeed one. I think that is what was said a while back. My question is, does Neuspeed make one for the rear? Or if they don't who does and which is the best one? Thanks a lot for your help.

YEs, Neuspeed makes a front STB and I think they even make some lower tie bars, but they do not make a rear bar. That bar may "slightly" be better than other bars, but no more than slightly. I think a better description towards at least strut tower bars is they are all fairly equal. And if you look at it from the perspective of what purpose they serve, it really makes a lot of sense. Besides fitament, and possibly some other aesthetic designs that were thought out, not much in terms of technology goes into a solid bar that links the struts towers together. This lack of technology means that most STB's are created somewhat equal in terms of the purpose that they serve. I would maybe recommend though finding a bar that effectively wraps around the strut tower collar. Get something solid at the ends, possibly a full collar that bolts down instead of a single bolt attachment.

Cheap Freedom Designs' bars such as these from NOPI at $40 would exhibit what an average, yet equally effective bar could fulfill.

So my recommendation, front or back, get whatever looks nice to you at a price you feel willing to pay for. Also, try and get a collar to the strut tower thats actually going to plant a firm base for your bar.

If I had an eclipse, I honestly would go with a neuspeed front STB and a sprint Front STB. The neuspeed bar is kinda small, and does not stretch across teh main stress points of the strut tower. it does help out a little 'though. I know Neuspeed doesn't make a rear lower bar. they trashed the idea early this year becasue they thought there was no market for it. Matrix, and Pilot Motorsports both make rear lower tie bars for eclipse. I have the pilot bar on my car. it doesn't have hime joints like dc sports bars, so it squeeks :( it does the job 'though.

Have fun!

Are the Matrix bars good? They don't seem to pricy and they look good with the chrome. Thanks

Matrix is actually made by OBX. I have the front Neuspeed and Matrix/OBX Rear upper and lower. Soon I'll have the RRE front lower

Hey Skrilla....let me know if that RRE front lower bar fits your car ok. I called them a while back and they told me it only fit the turbo? Thanks....

I have a Freedom Design Front STB a Pilot Motorsports Rear STB and an Extremem Motorsports Rear Lower Tie Bar, I love the set up I was amazed at how much it actualy improved the cornering ability of the car.

Skrillat lat me know if the front lower bar fit I thought it only fit the turbo's too, if it fit I want one. Thanks
