Sorry if I spelled that wrong, I am trying to remember the spelling of the top of my head. But anyway I ordered a short shifter from Hurricane GS and was wondering if this was a worthwhile mod and where exactly do I order it from??

bah, just get the energy suspension shifter bushings. They basically do the same thing and they cost way less then the symborski kit. RRE sells them for like $13 or so bucks.

You mean Hurricane GS's kit or the B&M short shifter kit? Well, Hurricane GS's kit is cheaper and you are supporting a fellow DSMer. But I have the B&M kit :-) Actually, I bought mine before I knew that Hurricane GS made a custom shifter.

The Symborski kit isn't a shifter; it is just the bushing kit that keeps the shift plate from moving so much.

The energy suspension bushings are cheaper but why replace rubber with more rubber? Use solid machined metal bushings and you won't be sorry.

Switching the bushings takes about 5 - 10 minutes

I am going to take mine apart tonight after work and measure everything up and draw it up in AutoCAD and machine them tomorrow and see what happens. We have a CNC lathe here so I can toss out a bunch for people on 2gnt if it works out good and it cost pretty much nothing to make for me we have lots of surplus stainless laying around.

Thanks for all the input guys, and if you can make the symborski-like kit cheaper than $35 (i know its only 35 bucks, but I am in college and every dollar counts), I am definitely down. I think I will hold off for a while on it to see if you could make it.

There is more that comes with the kit besides the metal bushings. You also get the piece where the shifter pivots. There was too much space where the bolt went thru and the kit has a new one of those too. If I were you, I would buy the kit, THEN measure the kit and re-make it.
