ok..my power steering is out and it feels like shit to drive my car.My girlfriends dad ( who's a mechanic) told me it looks like a problem with the line at the rack and pinion..the line is cracked or is leaking from the o-ring, or something like that..what do ya'll think? also, can this be somehow caused by the recall on the ball joint thing?

no, not part of the ball joint problem

and, if the power steering fluid is out, the rack will not work right. You need to get that leak plugged. The only thing I can think of is get one fom a junkyard to keep costs down, if the rack is the problem
