3950, Where's my rubber?
Posted by wakebord99, Nov-07-01 11:16 AM
I'm trying to find replacement bushings for my suspension, but i don't want to deal with greasing polyurithane. So, i was going to go with rubber. The dealer wants almost $500 for all the bushings, when the polyurithane is only $200. I tried a few other places (pep boys, and napa), but they didn't have any rubbers. So please help me find some rubber for a reasonable price. Thanks, you guys have been a HUGE help so far, and i know you'll come through again for me.

i would go with the aftermarket ones.. you dont really have to re grease it.. but it will probably squeak some over time.. and plus the dealership is lying if they will sell you all of the bushings, meaning all of them by themselve..

also the master set of energy suspension bushings is only lik 160.. i got lucky and got that at half that.. try these two places..

www.suspension.com and www.roadraceengineering.com

also the thing that ends up costing people is the labor to have someone else install them, but if you have a press and such or know someone that has one that should be mainly what you'll need, plus a long weekend to do it if you know what your'e doing..

I believe Energy Suspension makes a black master set that is self lubricating. Check it out.

It's not greasing the inserts that's a pain. If that was the worst thing we'd had to do to install Jason's master set, it would have been a great weekend. It's pressing out the stock ones, and pressing the new ones in that sucks. Even with a 12 ton hydralic press, it's still not easy. Burning them out doesn't work either, because they're all ringed in steel you have to cut loose after you burn the rubber out..
