3306, HOW THE HELL do i get my rotors off?!?! Posted by mike_d, Jul-18-01 03:52 AM
i cant get my front rotors off. ive tried taking them off by pulling, then i tried using the bolt in the little holes but the thread stripped out, then i tried a rubber mallet and that didnt work. how the hell am i gonna get them off without major dammage. the rotors are a year old and a little warped so i want to just get them turned. thanks

If the threads are stripped out in both those bolt holes (there ARE two), your only option is to go get a bigger mallet. if you hit it hard enough from the back, you should be able to knock that sucker loose..

Yep thats what i had to do. I took a big mallet and wacked the crap out of them. Hit all around it, then wiggle it a little, and repeat. I don't think a rubber mallet will break them. If they are warped badly, and you want stock rotors, i'll sell you mine cheap. They had about 38,000 miles on them when i took them off, theyv'e never been turned, and they're still in good shape. I got powerslots. Deze
