I now have to remove the crossmember to drill this thing out.

The long bolt for the compression arm on the passenger side's head snapped off and nothing so far is working. 1 can of PB Blaster, heat, heat and ice, etc.


Before I remove this, are there any other bolts I need to watch out for that are known to break?

If there is enough of it left sticking out, I got mine off by hammering a slightly too small 12 point socket onto it. The socket will be trash after you're done, but it beats removing the crossmember. Alternatively, if you have access to a welder you could weld a nut to it.

I have welded a nut to it, it ended up snapping off the remainder of what was sticking out, even with using an impact instead of constant force.

WATCH OUT FOR THE FUEL AND BRAKE LINES!!! I just got done doing the same thing and while I was drilling I hit the fuel and one brake line. it sucked so fucking bad, for real. so if its that side watch out

It is that side. I am going to be taking the crossmember off of the car to carefully drill it out.

In the same boat right now. I actually had 2 bolts crater on me; both rust welded. Tried everything to remove those suckers with no luck.

It's happened to all of us. I had both of my rear cam bolts seize up due to years of rust. Had to cut the links off with a sawzall and replace everything. Fun stuff!

The rear cam bolts? are you talking about the caps?

No, I'm talking about the rear concentric cam bolts that go through the lower links and are used to adjust rear toe angle.

o yes, Sorry it was late when i posted...I was very tired and all i caught was cam bolts. anyway ya i read all of that threat for the camber mod...

Control arm bolt finally gave. Need to re-thread via Helicoil or cut and replace damaged section (pretty mangled). Estimated time until car is back on the ground, less than 1 week. - Yes, I'm going slow with this... no rush.

Dude, it took me two weeks of non stop bullshit replacing the whole front end. nothing ever goes smooth.
