3274, CV work Price? (clicking) Posted by EsiTalon, Jul-17-01 03:08 AM
In regards to my previous post on the clicking... I don't think it's the ball joints... they wouldn't click, I think it's the CV joint... has anyone had this done? did you do it yourself or is it better to have like a CV pros do it? what's a good price for that?
Thanks!

price for having the CV checked or fixed? it should be under recall.

Negative. The ball joint boot cover is recalled not the CV-joint. Should cost bout $60 to change out a CV boot. If you do it yourself you'll need to disconnect your steering knuckle = special tool..think pickle fork. I'd save the trouble and pay a lil forsomeone w/ the tools. Don't get the EZ-CV boot repair the one where it's just cut in half and you glue it back up. They break easily.
