31252, I need help please

Ok here's the issue...tonight as I was pulling into the pool hall I heard this weird noise coming from the drivers side front tire area.

So I pull into the spot and when I parked I wiggled the wheel and I could hear a clanking sound. The noise doesn't come when I'm slowing down but does make a clank noise when I'm taking off.

The car is lowered on Tein Springs and Tokico 5-way adjustable struts, and they only have about 5k miles on them total.

I think it may be the ball joint, can anyone confirm? And is this going to be something satan will have in stock tomorrow?? I need to fix what ever the issue is by monday.

Also just thought I would mention that I don't have a camber kit on the front and the tires are really wearing on the insides. Could this cause extra stress on the ball joints?

Also I don't use the power steering, could anything go wrong from this?

Again I can make the noise happen by wiggling the wheel while stopped.

Jack the car up. Try to steer the tire by hand, see if there is any play pushing on the front and then the back. If there is that would indicate your inner or outter tie rod joints could be bad. If you want to just take the outter tie rod nut off, and hammer the joint out from the knuckle. If the tie rod seems really sloppy, like if you lift it up to its peak and let go, does it fall quickly to the ground? If so, its time for new tie rods.

If its one of the ball joints, check for grease seeping out from the rubber boots. There's one on the upper control arm and two on the bottom of the knuckle under your hub/axle. Typically, ball joints w/ over 100k miles are needing replaced. They'll get very sloppy w/o that grease in them.

Also check your springs, one of the ends might have broken off, rust is a bitch.

Don't forget about the ball joint recall.

The balljoint recall only helps with 2 of 8 ball joints on the car.
