31085, ALIGNMENTS CANT DRIVE WITH THEM CANT DRIVE WITH OUT THEM Posted by TheGhost, Feb-09-08 10:24 AM
Hey guys your friendly neighborhood junkyard racer back again and this time needing help. I love road racing and my daily recieved a tokico blue shock red spring set. I need an alignment bad but wondered on some tricks to do. I did the 15$ rear mod and it did not fix the problem but only help relieve the symptoms slightly. And I have not tried tackling the front yet what can I do to get the alignment back so I can whoop on some boys. Oh yea I need responses A.S.A.P. and yes as always I used the search button. Thanks

How far are you lowered? How far off are you to spec? Are you trying to align your car in your garage? Do you have a front camber kit? How many washers do you have in the rear? (also washer thickness)
if you don't have a front kit I recommend either the adjustable ball joints or the ingalls extreme camber kit.. Just get a front kit, some more washers for the rear and take them into a qualified alignment shop and let them worry about it..

if youre not dropped more than 2 inches i really cant see why you'd need a front camber kit, from what ive seen from other posts here in some cases the front camber kit does more harm than good. after lowering and doing the $15 rear camber kit my rear wheels still "looked" wrong. after i got my alignment done everything evened out. tire wear has been pretty damn even for the past 2 years. My setup is a little different than yours tho, im running eibach prokits and tokico hps.

I'm gonna be using the same but would I need a cmaber kit mine wears for inside on the fronts, I know i need ft align job, should I wait til after its done with New tires to see if need a camber kit.

+1
every person I know who runs this setup usually just worries about the rear. Myself I have some Tenzo R's(2 inch drop) but might switch it for some prokits.

it wears the insides of your tires at stock rideheight? that doesnt seem right... my suggestion would be to rotate your tires and get an alignment, and make sure you dont have other issues before lowering... prokits and hps have been pretty good for me, driven it through 2 winters and while really effing low the ride quality isnt that bad.

I'd guess your toe is set too far out. it'll also cause you to understeer like a bitch.
get an alignment.
