30856, New wheels and tires! Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 Posted by bolverkchaos, Nov-13-07 04:05 AM
Got some new shoes last week. Man, I love them. This is my first time to buy wheels and I'm rather excited.
The Wheels are Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's, 17x8, +38, with hub centric spacers as they're made for the Evo. I got an ok deal on some Fuzion ZRI's so I went with those for rubber, they're 225/45/17. And I'm very happy with them, very nice tire from what I can tell so far.
The improvement in handling over stock is like night and day, it's amazing. The tires I had before on the old five star stockers where crap, I think they came from walmart. Awful tires. But this setup drives totally different, everything feels much more confident, I can take turns much faster and not think twice about it, over all I'm very happy with the setup.
So far I don't have any rubbing or need to roll the finders, at least not that I can tell.
If there was anything I could lament about, it's that the setup is noticeably heavier. I didn't weigh them, but I could really feel how much more they were than the old ones. And It's sadly evident when driving the car as it's acceleration has suffered a bit. But the gain in handling and looks levels that out for me, and when the car is turbo'd it wont matter much.
Enjoy.

Good choice on the Team Dynamics. They look excellent and, from my research in the rally world, are one of the few brands available domestically which are robust enough to handle the rigors of off-road driving. Not saying you should start driving like an asshat or anything, but I doubt we'll be hearing from you about how a pothole bent one of those dogs. Kudos on a great wheel choice!

I have the same tires except they're 18/40's. No complaints the tread pattern is fairly aggressive and the grip is great. (for Bridgestone's) But, yeah, compared to stockers there is absolutely no comparison in handling. I do get some minor rub, but only when the wheel is turned more than 95% to one direction. Love those rims, sir. :thumbsup
edit: splling ;)

Gotta love new wheels and tires.
I didn't spend top dollar like yourself (got my chrome 16's for free from a fellow dsmer and paid $300 for four nexen tires) but it's night and day over my old setup.
Totally worth it to sacrifice a little bit of speed for more control.
