30430, rear spring removal Q? Posted by bud660r, May-24-07 01:05 PM
ok i want to remove my old springs from my rear struts,i know i have to compress them and all of that good stuff. but my Q is when i put them back together how far down do i screew the nut on the top of the strut? " i am removing the old springs and replacing them with some lowering ones" i think they are around a 2in lowering spring something like that i got them for free from a buddy, i already have them all on the car but the struts he gave me are shot so i just want to put the springs back on the stock struts!

Don't snap your wrench on it but tighten it up well enough it won't unscrew itself. Use a crescent wrench or some vise grips to hold the top of the strut rod after you get the bolt started.
