3012, Using hoist to lower car, any tips?
Posted by HeDog, Jun-28-01 02:44 PM
Either tomorrow or this weekend I plan on finally lowering my car. I figure that I'll lower it anywhere from 1.5" to 2". I'm going to be using a hoist and was wondering if anyone has any ideas or experience with backing off of the thing and not getting the car hung up. I plan on putting one 2x6 on each side after I get everything on, but is there anything else that I may have to do or watch out for when using this thing? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You'll scrape around town anyway. Usually if its a drive on hoist we have to put little 2x4's there. And when its a hoist where you have to put 4 arms under the car and raise that I just have someone lift up my car a little bit so the hoist will fit under it.
