29747, HELP, changing rear pads and drums Posted by susafuss, Aug-13-06 02:11 PM
ok i have all the parts and i am looking at the pads and all 4 of them are the same. Is that bad, i was thinking the main pad would have more area for braking.

Often rear drum shoes are all the same.
In the shop about half the cars I do rear brakes on (that have drums) shoes are all the same.

Actually Joel he is thinking back from the 90's where your front shoe had more material than the rear. Most of the time they are different. Smaller compact cars have had a habit of making them the same probably for cost of production.
