has any on tried or attempted to do a brake upgrade from an evo vIII, because i know some guys who have the brake set up was wondering what it would be like to do

well they bolt right onto the 3g eclipse.
I know that some of them used the gsx calipers... so... if the gsx works on ours evos might be worth it.... maybe

I don't know if it is the same for N/T models, but some of the GSX/GST guys are buying 99+ galant knuckles and then the brakes are bolting right up.

Correction.
You have to buy the 99+ Galant JDM knuckles and abs sensor. The US model knuckles are not the right ones.

Update:
3G's switched to McPherson after 99 and an all new platform and this will not bolt onto a 2G.
Only route to go is these galant knuckles or just buy a real big brake upgrade kit made for our cars.
