Got my rims today. 17x8 SSRs with a 42mm offset.

What tires for max width? I've looked at 245/40 all the way to 225/45. I am kind of leaning towards a 235/40 but I wanted input from you guys.

anything wider than 225/45 is gonna track like crazy but any of the tires you mentioned will work.

What do you mean by "track"; floating issues?

I am lowered on Eibach Pro's so will rubbing be an issue with the 235s?

Tracking is when your car follows the "groove's" (think slight ruts from heavy traffic) in the road causeing your car to wander in the lane on roads that are more heavily traveled. This isn't really a problem on the highway but on city streets your car can feel slightly uncontrolable. Almost a similar sensation to Hydroplaning only you can keep control over your car.

Okay. I see what you are saying. You think I will be okay with the 235/40 then? If so then I know the Ecsta SPT is available in that size.

I don't see a huge problem running the 235's other than the fact that they are alot more expensive than the 225's. So decide wisely I don't think the 235's are enough wider than the 225's to justify the difference in price. But that's just my $0.02.

So will the 42mm offset be okay with the 8in wide rim? I have been searching all over for a hard core yes/no answer, but no luck yet. If it helps I am lowered with Eibach Pros.

yes that offset will work i have the same. It is close but will fit. i am on sportline springs but that shouldn't matter. i used 225 tires cause ther is big differance in $$$ butif you find 235's cheap go for it.
