2945, Sway Bar Links....

Does anyone what happens to your car when u do not connect the sway bar links to the front strut arm. When I installed my new struts the actual link was, I beleive stripped because when I tried to screw it in on both sides, i couldnt do it. So I just left them both hanging there, is something bad going to happen to my car-Does it affect my steering or suspension at all.

Reason I am asking is because I failed my safety inspection because of this. I mean, if it is really that unsafe, then I would have f---d my car up or been in an accident already. I installed my struts about a month ago, around the beginning of June, and so far the only thing I have found different was a shitty ride over small cuts in the road.

I'm not an expert on this but I think it would be a little unsafe. The sway bar controls body roll, therefore controlling your steering. The car will lean more into corners and there is a good chance you could lose control if it. This is what I believe and if I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

Unsafe? No, it will hinder your performance but i wouldnt consider it dangerous, I lost a nut from my sway bar during an AutoX race, and I still drove my car to the extreme and did not so much as spin out, so I dont think you have any worries, as far as an inspection, they will get you for that.
