are the calipers from the GSX, two piston, where as the ones on an RS are one piston? If so, will GSX calipers fit on the rear with the drum-to-disc conversion and are they universal from front to back on the GSX, ie-will front work on back and vice-versa?

I don't think so. The back brakes on a GSX are 1 piston calipers and the fronts are 2. I think thats the only way that they will work.
