Hawaii has a law that if you upgrade your car in any way other than stock it needs a recon sticker. one lame ass rule is that your lights must be at least 22in from the middle of the headlight to the ground. mine is an 3/4 inch off (to low)what can I do to fix this I dont want to swap my springs again.

bastards are making me align my car again too I just did that 35 days ago, there rules say 30 days only one damn place on the whole effin island to get my recon. It took me 2 weeks to get a appt and thats why im over my 30 days.

you'll get lots've info on there. we've got a whole section dedicated to recon BS. it was worse here before. you needed an affidavit stating your exhaust was safe. same for rims. the affidavit didn't really mean anything. shops just charged like $50 to sign the paper for you.

weighting down your trunk *might* tilt the front up enough to get you by if you're only 3/4" off. could try slightly over-inflating your tires also. other than that maybe lighten your front end a litte? :shrug

I would try those little knuckles you can install in springs to help them hold heavier loads. You buy them at autozone and they install with a single ratchet. Just as easy to remove.

I was thinking maybe jacking the car up, JUST before taking it to be measured? that might give you the extra lil boost you need. other than that...im glad i live in CA...wait did i just say that?!:whoa

One skinny girlfriend or 2 45 plates will do the trick, and to think people said I would never use the weight set. Ill also add some air to the front and take out a little from the back.

Why are you goin the difficult route? We are only talking 3/4" here, I say move the headlights instead of messing with your alignment/springs. Take the four bolts out of each headlight, make a quick bracket for one of the holes on the bottom, and raise each headlight up 3/4". So you'll have a 3/4" space below the headlights for a day, so what. I bet 1/2" is just about where it will get noticable. Then, if the hood doesn't close right, just get some twine and tie that latch down. get it checked out then go back to stock

if the hood doesn't latch that's a whole other problem entirely and you will not pass. they do a pretty thorough inspection of the car. strangely they don't check brakes. i told them i'd completely swapped out and modded my brakes but they didn't see the need to test them or even inspect them. i guess low headlights are more of a safety concern than working brakes :shrug

That sounds way harder than putting 2 45lb weights in the hatch and filling the tires with air.
