Did a search on this and seems like everyone has trouble with getting the actually bushing installed .. I took my car to the alignment shop and they said they could not align it because BOTH my rear bushings were bad, he said it was the rear upper control arm bushing, but my question to you guys who have had this problem, in this picture ..



will gettin parts 33300 AL and AR and then just swap them out work? i have a 96rs, he has a 95rs so i think there should be no difference there .. hopefully it isnt a bitch to do, i dont wanna have to take it to the shop to have this done, plus i really dont wanna purchase these parts if ill still need to replace the bushing itself ya know .. i seen an older post where it said the guy was going to just replace the bolt in the top hand corner that the bushing is on, or at least im guessing thats where it is .. would that work as well? anyone got anything for me??

Yea, the bushing that usually goes bad is the one up there at the top.
Those bushings are a real weak spot on our cars and you can't buy just the bushings that I'm aware of. I've been told they are included in the Master Bushing Set from Energy Suspension, but I can't confirm that, plus they need to be pressed in. When mine went I bought both knuckles from the dealer, they come with bushings already installed and cost about $220 a side. If I remember correctly they are different part numbers depending on if it's a factory ABS car or not if you have rear discs.

As stated, pretty much your only option is to get new knuckles. Good luck with that one.

the energy suspension bushing kit does replace those bushings, as well as all of the others on the knuckle.

The urethane bushing kit makew a HUGE difference in the way the car handles, in fact, it becomes an entirely different car. they make it a little bumpy, but it will turn like a mo-fo. I highly suggest it.

The installation of the urethane bushing kit is a royal PITA, though. Make sure you have all the tools and as much help as you can get to do this job.

so will swaping my parts out, for these parts out work and fix the problem without having to buy and install the bushings?



the guy told me the part that was bad was right in the middle at the top, it slides side to side and rides like you would not believe!

^^^ mines busted too.

anyone know how much it'd cost if you brought in the knuckle and the bushings to a shop and asked them to press them in (and remove the old ones)?

i'm pretty sure if you just buy a knew knuckle it just swaps in. the bushings come pre-pressed in the stock parts.

Yes, but if you're getting them used make sure they're good before going to all the trouble as they do seem prone to premature wear/failure.
