Do i need to remove the hub and the axle to seporate them or can i just remove the hub with everything still attached. I searched but from what i read it looks like there are two ways to do it.

You must remove the axle in order to remove the hub from the spindle.

You can leave the axle on the car, but you do need to remove the nut on the axle, just make sure that you don't mash the threads of the axle (solved by taking a big nut (same size) and putting it on the end, but making sure that there is some space (1/8 inch between the edge of the nut and the end of the axle) and hit the nut, but try PB blaster on it first.

It's not that hard.

The other advice would be to have a cold chisle handy for getting it out.

Thanks guys, I'm going to give it a go in a couple of days. On a good note i found a puller that goes over the lug nut studs, I'm just going to borrow it from work.

That may work.

I was fortunate enough to have mine slide out with no problem, it was greased by the people at the transmission shop. Too bad they mushroomed the end of the shaft causing the bolt to strip and cross thread = incorrect torque resulting in me replacing my wheel bearing (3 times... third time was the charm because I knew the correct torque myself that time).

Well i had to take everything apart. I mushromed the end, Then put it on a 12ton press poped it loose. What a biatch! thanks for your help though.
