28910, Illumina extra bolts?
Posted by nonamerat, Mar-11-06 08:52 AM
I just got my tokico illuminas and I am confused as to what the two extra nuts are that came with each strut. The "instructions" say to torque them depending on if you have a strut or shock? I don't know where these go or if we even use them. I want to start this install today so if anyone installed these themselves help would be excellent. Thanks!

Are they for the front or the back? New struts always come with new mounting bolts. My KYBs came with two nuts for the fronts on each side. I just took both nuts and screwed them on each strut to prevent it from threading backwards off the strut. You may find that crazy but I had it happen before and I wish I took pictures of the aftermath of that strut it was beyond fucked and the piston was snapped completly the fuck off

They came with both the front and the back. Theres two each both M14 each of different heights. The only thing I could come up with is that they go over the bolt with the flange that holds the strut in, in between that and the red adjusting knob. I think the extra heights are for which ever one fits better in between those two things. :shrug
