And on the 7th Day god granted him brakes!
And dirty rims!
GSX Dual piston Conversion Stainless brake lines AEM GSX big Brake upgrade (Thanks to Dan-TheDAWG) GSX Master Cylinder
Not bad for a 450.00 upgrade.
When the motor comes out I can upgrade the Proportioning valve as well.

I am pretty sure the powerslots are the same. AEM sold the rights to their kits to powerslot last I heard.

good job. so that's what Dan did with his brakes. and wow, old school niche shocks. I thought those wheels were da bomb like 10 years ago.

No thats what Dan did with his rotors. Those wheels may have been the bomb but they apparently were so great 2 years ago that Niche re-opened production lines due to high demand.
Ask me how I know? I paid 500.00 to know.

what size rims are those? and is the aem rotor larger then the typical powerslot or brembo rotor?

They're a lot larger than your typical Powerslot or Brembo rotor, hence Big Brake upgrade; won't fit inside anything under a 17" rim. In his case, it barely made clearance. I believe the Powerslot and Brembo rotors you are talking about are slightly larger than factory rotors, unless you're speaking of a Big Brake Brembo upgrade.

yea thats cool, im talking about the 3000gt vr4 calipers too...not the 2 piston, the 4 piston. fixed caliper brackets are a lot easier to make, i did the brackets as a project for school. need some flat stock and just plasma out some more and finish them. thats why i said doh, shoulda waited.
you dont need to weld in your garage to make some brackets though lol, actually you dont need to weld anything.

VR4 = AWD.......
Welding is required for the way i want them done. Find me a set of calipers cheap and i will have em on in a couple days.

Here's what they'll look like. I just did the GSX upgrade with Powerslots, Hawk pads and stainless lines all around. I did not do the big brakes option.

Here are pics of when I did my conversion back in the day. You can see the difference in size in the rotors. These are Raceconcept rotors, SS lines, and GSX calipers/brackets, and Russell Speedbleeders.

How much do you think just the powerslots and powerslot brakets will cost me brand new?
I already have the calipers for my 1g ready to go.

Thread Ressurection!
I'm doing the front GSX swap, along with replacing my leaking master clutch cylinder. Is upgrading to the GSX's cylinder neccessary? Also, how much larger are the rotors in the big brake kit than the OEM GSX? Thanks

No, it's not necessary to replace your stock master cylinder with a GSX one. I think there is a thread or two around here with some info on this subject.
OEM GSX rotors are 11.5" I believe. The big brake upgrade rotors are 12.5 or 13" I think...I can't remember exactly.

Since the GSX master is slightly bigger, It will require less pedal travel for the same ammount of fluid. But in reality, it be really hard to notice.

You can notice but its not a great deal to speak of.
