I have the opertunity to get 4 motor mounts from a local guy. What do you guys think about these ? Does the vibration really suck ?

personally i dont like it but if you want still mounts then its one of only a couple choices. Go for it.

I agree with Terry. I have ES poly mounts and it vibrates the shit out of my car, the upside is I can 'feel' when the tires are going to break loose at auto x...and I lost almost all wheel hop...

I have the prothane front and rears installed, its not to bad infack i'm used to it now. And like ^^ said bye bye wheel hop.

badass car eclipse99rs. I just installed prothane rear inserts on mine the other day. Vibrates a little, but not too bad. 3 more to go.

Just having the front and rear ones was intolerable in my car. No wheelhop on launch, but the NVH at upper revs was extremely harsh. YMMV.

you get used to it after a while
the only time i really notice is for some reason if the idle drops to say like 500rpms
then the entire car shakes like crazy

I have the ES front and rears. In the begining I was yelling at the car like a crazy person because of the rattles and shaking. I'm used to it now.
And it is also funny to hear my roommate saying "Am I supposed to feel the engine shaking through my ass?!" He was sitting where my back seat used to be.

Go with a solid front mount.... girls love the vibration after 3500 rpm :P

Exactly the same with my car. I think it just has to do with the frequency of the vibrations. The vibrations up high are unnoticble to me (maybe from me used to driving Trans Ams/V8s?.)
I personally think the trade off is worth it. When I auto-x it just feels so much better, espicially with the urethane suspension bushings too. Virtually no wheel hop, road feel is awesome. If you just want a street/show car, and it worry you that much, I would say don't bother, but if you are looking to put a little power down or have attain some decent response/road feel, go for it.

Not to hijack the thread or anything but....would the "vibration" through a prothane mount be better if the engine were balanced? I had my engine balanced during my rebuild and was curious if this would help the vibration thing through the prothane mount? Anyone have a balanced motor with the prothane mounts?
