28501, Checker Auto Parts Loaded GSX calipers Posted by edxmon, Jan-12-06 03:57 PM
i read a while back about a member buying there, so i searched and i found them, about 50 a piece rebuilt. now it doesnt list exactly what it comes with, caliper and bracket or what? if u are that memeber or any one whos purchased them from them here my Qstion: if i buy these will the only thing left to buy be some rotors, and maybe pads?
heres one example of what im considering, and if you browse around and find what im lookin for posted in your reply, thanks guys!

they *should* come with the brackets, call the people and ask to be sure. UNless my brain has gone to happy hour already, those pics show the brackets attached.
FYI, a loaded caliper comes with the pads already, hence the term "loaded".
IF you have not already, read http://www.2gnt.com/nuke/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=31
it will tell you all you need. Read the stickies at the top of the page as well.
You might consider getting some SS lines but they are not necessary. when i did the swap 2+ years ago on my old RS i got them and never had a problem.

the shims will come with the pads/calipers. The brackets should be included as well. Then all you need is rotors and potentially the ss lines.
As far as rotors, you have many options so shop around. I personally got slotted brembos from Raceconcepts.net when i did my conversion. They had a 2gnt discount then, i dont know if it still applies--contact them to check.
Whatever rotors you end up ordering make sure you order the rotors for the AWD model. Oh and dont waste your money on that cross-drilled and slotted bullshit. Just get the slotted or plain rotors.
SS lines can be found all over the net, search around and im sure you'll find a good deal. I dont even know if howell carries them, i personally do not give howell any of my money. Again i got mine from Raceconcept.net but i know thats not the only place that would have them.
enjoy the DPC's. My stockers definitely started sucking when i put onthe 17's i had but the DPCs were suweet.
*edit* you're going to need brake fluid as well. Im sure you knew that but just in case...

EXECELLENT! well brembo blanks are only like 30 apiece, but i would like something fancier, slotted would be nice if the were max 60 a piece, but ill look into it. now that howell is in kind of a bad standing with us, since the ECU theft issue and such, i dk wer ill get my AF/X UDP, i cant find any other place that sells them. i wanted to get everything from one place so that i would combine shipping. if any one in browses in here and knows where feel free to post it or pm me, thanks again everyone for being so helpful.
P.S. hope u guys like my new sig pic, just had to brag ^^
EDIT: u mention to make sure to get AWD rotors, when ever im browsing for rotors ill just put they are for a GSX, will that be the same thing? cuz im just going to buy new drums for the back after i get the GSX fronts.
