28302, Quick Question on wheels....
Posted by eklipz, Nov-11-05 06:31 PM
I posted this in the general forum...hope you guys can help me out here ...

Im more worried about the fenders rubbing. I've searched the forums and I've read the max offset would be +35 but I've seen people running them with the rims having a width of only 8".

Im trying to run 18 x 8.5" with +35 offset and 225/40/18 tires. I will be running the ingalls camber kit and I'll be rolling or shaving off the rear fenders as well. Also note the car will be lowered about 2 inches. Im worried about the extra 1/2" width on the rims and if there's enough clearance on the front during turns.

I just wanna make sure once all this is done there wouldn't be any problems. Any of you guys with similar set ups let me know your experiences and suggestions Thanks

I think you should be fine with that setup, but it might look kind of funny. A 225 tire doesn't fit that well on a 8.5" rim. But I was running 235/45/18 on a +42 18x8" rim and I had non stop rub. If I could have tucked it in 7mm on the rim and 10mm on the tire, I think I probably would have made it. Just be careful on the tire width/rim width combo you are looking at.
