I just finished installing eibach sportlines springs with tokico gr2 shocks and some gsx rims this past Sunday. The install went pretty smooth but when I went for a test drive afterwards I noticed that there is a lot of shaking coming from the right side of the car, especially when I hit any type of bump on the road. I bought the gsx rims used for cheap and in good condition except that one rim had a slightly bent lip. I put this rim on the passenger side rear of the car. Do you guys think this is the cause of the shaking or is it because i need an alignment? I'm pretty sure it's the rim but I just wanted second opinions before I go and dish out money getting the rim fixed.

Yeah, I already looked into getting an alignment but the car is so low now that most places in my area can't do it. The only place that I found close to me opens only Mon through Fri 9-5. I work those hours so it kind of scrathes that idea. I'm most certain it's the slight bend on the lip of the rear rim that's causing the shaking. I've been contemplating the idea of taking a hammer to the rim. }( It's not bent so bad. It's just the little outer edge. Has anyone on here had a bent rim repaired? How much were you guys that did it charged?

it cant be THAT low. I have the sportlines and tokico shocks to and mine can be done just fine. you NEED camber kits in the front and rear with those springs...your wobble may be that your so far out of alignment, i doubt its the slightly bent rim. (could be though... )

Gawd. or just move the bent rim to the other side of the car and see if the shimmy moves with it or stays on passenger side??? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

i have the same rims you do, on ehas a huge bend at the lip and it dont wobble at all, im telling you its your alignment and camber combined....just go get it aligned and get some camber kits

I'm gonna try swapping the rim first to see if the shaking changes to the other side. If it's not the rim then i'm gonna go get the alignment done.

Put the bad rim on the rear passenger side and get it balanced as good as possible. Then the shake will only really be there at high speed.

The rear passenger side is where it is now and i feel a lot of shaking. I'm gonna solve the problem this Saturday through process of elimination. I'm gonna try all of the suggestions everyone replied with. One has to solve the problem. :thumbsup Then i'm gonna get off my lazy behind and finally post pics of my car. I've been a member here for a while and I still haven't posted any pics of my car.

I just thought I'd give you guys an update on the list of problems after the car drop. I got the wheels balanced and still the car is shaking and now pulling hard to the left. So i go to get an alignment and the mechanic tells me that he can't do it because the left tire seems offs. So he starts measuring and tells me that something must be bent under the car on the left side. Then I remembered that when I bought the car I got it for dirt cheap because it was crashed on the front driver's side of the car. So the mechanice tells me that most likely I will need to change the curved lower control arm because the angle seems off. He couldn't find the part which is good because i'd rather go to the junkyard and get it and do it myself. But now i'm thinking about what else could be bent down there? :scratch

the lower compression arm? trust me, just spend the money and get a new one, I don't trust used ball joints from a junkyard because you know nothing of their condition overall, and neither should anyone else, hell, even the guy at the junkyard even said not to buy them from him!
Just shop around all the local dealers, and don't forget to look up chrysler dealers too, it's been my experience that they're typically cheaper.
