2773, Illuminas?? Posted by ecliptic1, Jun-11-01 10:47 AM
Are they really that great as far as a better ride or are the regular tokico shocks better? Also are the spring perches detachable, because I have coilovers? Thanks!!

Detachable perches no, but remove the perches will allow th coils to go lower. Mine are still on and I use Ground Control. In terms of better ride, it is all how you look at it. They are 5 way adjustable for dampening ans stiffness. Mine in the erar are set at medium (3) and the front are max hard recently I changed the ride hieght because I was pretty low in the front, but that is so I can mount my RX-7 rims when I get them some good rubber (potenzas here I come!). The non adjustable Tokicos aren't as stiff as the Illuminas can get but they are stiff and the illuminas can be adjusted from stiff to soft (which is still stiffer than stock).

Good choice on tires!
I know whe've talked about this before but what did you pay for your Ground Controls, and Illuminas? Where did you get them? I'm thinking with the roads and the curbe to my driveway I only want to drop an inch. One more question. How easy is it to make sure all the springs are set at the same height?

Well the Ground controls I got off http://www.ThePartsTrader.com and I bought my illuminas through importhookup right before he started f*cking people. I got a http://www.carparts.com coupon from him and got my shocks for $450 at my doorstep. Later I purchased, straight from ground control, some front shock adapters to work on my Illuminas instead of the stock setup. They were an addt'l $30, so I paid total $705, and I must say I'm VERY impressed. Strange it may sound I want RRE's full shocktec CO with their metallic tops and their little premium package, I think it's about 1200 bucks or so. Anyway the nice thing about my current setup is that everything is guarranteed for life, which means both the adjustable springs and Illuminas.
Anyway it's also all for sale for a more comprehensive setup, I am now in search of more grip and selling these for something more expensive if the only way, along with the RX-7 rims and Bridgestons. So if you or anyone is interested drop me some mail. I'll let the suspension go for $500 - skrilla@home.com

Unfortunately I don't have the $500 because that set up sounds sweet! Isn't the warranty on both of them good for only the original owner?
