27336, HELP ASAP! non 2g related brake question...
Posted by Shockeclipse, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
So my roomates trying to put brakes on his civic (95) and the top bolt holding the caliper on just won't come off. Its stripping everytime we try anything. Now he drives me to work everyday since my car is ripped apart right now. I am all out of ideas, vice grips won't work, I don't have the tools here to cut it off, I just don't know, I am about to try heating it but I don't think that will matter because nothing will grip the head of the bolt. Please help!

If it's stripped with nothing to work, try pounding a smaller sized socket on it. .02

go buy a set of "twist offs" i love my snap on set, but craftsman makes them also. its just a socket designed for removing stripped bolts. theyre a lifesaver when you work on FORDS all day, atleast...
