Are Avenger lower control arms/sway bar compatible with our car.

yes!!!, iv used avenger....mitsubishi galant ect, they will bolt right up

I know the control arms are, but I am not sure about the sway bar. I would imagine it would be though, because Avengers and Eclipses are nearly identical mechanically.

yep, we can use the same RSDSM sway bars on our avengers as you guys on the eclipse.

Turned out to be a waste of time. The bolts on the donor car just wouldn't cooperate. Thanks for clearing that up though for the next time I come across a set.

I came to the same conclusion when I inspected an avenger sitting in a junkyard. I figured that they are mechanically identical from the front seats and center console forward they are the same car its kinda freaky IMO. I actually took a rear hub from that car and installed it in my 96 RS and they are also the same. The suspensions looked to be identical too but I ran into a small problem when I replaced a whole spring and damper assembly thinking it would just bolt up to my car.

I actually ran into a problem. The thing actually bolted up but I didnt realize that the avenger is actually a heavier car and that the spring on the avenger is stronger and taller. I put the whole thing in and didnt notice a slight lean on my car until my passengers side tire (opposite where I put in the avenger spring and damper) was wearing out at a very alarming rate on the outer part side! I was needless to say piiissssed. I kicked my self in the nuts for being that stupid. I took it out and replaced the spring with my original one and put in the avenger damper since thats what I was trying to replace in the first place but was too lazy to actually check that.

same thing with the galant suspensions, springs and shocks are taller.

then would one deduce that a set of Avenger lowering springs would be stiffer than a set of Eclipse lowering springs? If so would this not be a good mod?

maybe, but seeing as how the stock avenger springs are taller, then the avenger lowering springs might end up placing the eclipse at stock height, but maybe a bit stiffer... so, yah, possibly. :shrug

maybe sportlines for an Avenger? I guess this would take us into a discussion about different spring rates and how they affect the car, what ride height a given pressure spring will produce on a given weight of car. If anyones done this, speak up.
