I just went to tighten my lugs and a wheel stud broke off clean. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem before and how much it cost to fix it.

Not all that expensive.

Is it a front or a rear? Fronts are easy, rears suck.

$15 at tires plus. I've had about 3-4 broken ones on my eclipse. 0 on my talon.

It's real EZ to do yourself & costs lil to nothing. I'd like to say they were on the order of .75/ea. One of mine busted, so I just did all 10x up front both sides. Can't say how the rear 1's are.

Its the front so hopefully when I disassemble nothing goes wrong...everytime I work on my f&*^ing car something new breaks. Thanks guys

Just whack it out the back with a hammer. There is one spot in the back where the lug stud will just come out (it will pass through unobstructed). Install the new stud using the reverse technique. Using a thick stack of washers, thread the lug nut on the stud, and tighten it down until the stud is pulled into the hub.

had to replace two or three on my last car...1-2 bucks a bolt
