27066, Need help with spring install Posted by ScreaminE, May-05-05 04:45 PM
Well I am trying to get my stock springs back on because I am a dumbass and I lowered my car with ebay coilovers. Anyway, I cant seem to get the front springs back on...The rears was pretty easy once I trimmed down the top rubber piece(the black rubber piece that sits on top of the shock tower and under the gold washer) But the front just will not go back on... Am I going to have to have a spring compressor the put the fronts back on?
I went to a shop to get them put back together and they told me it would cost 70 dollars...assholes

go to harbor freight and buy a set of spring compressors, they're cheap, like 10-15 bucks. those are a must when putting on the stock springs. good luck
the first solution that comes to mind for any new problem with my car usually involves a can of gas and a match.....:wallbash

Or rent a pair of the threaded kind.

Go to checkers/autozone and rent a spring compressor. Most allow you to rent for free for a day.
It would be impossible to get the stock springs back on without compressing them.
