the ass end of my car was really wobbly or something, i couldnt figure out what was up so i wasnt driving it that much. i finally got it on a lift and noticed a fat screw in my rear tire...:wallbash...and the tire was at 12psi :eek

its so hard to tell tire pressure when you have 18 inch low pros, i swear...

anyway, i got some 2 NEW bridegestones (225/40/ZR18) mounted AND balanced for 106$!! muhahaha! i guess i seriously made the RIGHT friend at a tire shop in san clemente (where i live) and was fully expecting to pay more )each tire retails for 208$) when he said how's 106$ sound i was like....:wary..."outstanding." he's like, alright then you're good to go, shook my hand and i backed the car off the lift...

he fixed my mystery tire stem up front...and mounted two rear tires for me. i could just tell by his craftsmanship and the way he moved and did things that he was one of those guys that KNEW what he was doing, it was nice to see a skilled technician in other words...not some monkey who changes tires, lol.

holyshit, im STOKED! these bitchasses GRIP!!! woooo, car feels amazingly stupendous in handling again :-D

i'll take some ass end shots of the tires tonight and post em up, just wanted to share the good news.

major just kidding. I used to hook people up at our tire store, but it was really person to person. I remember taking extra care on vehicles if i liked the person or liked their car. People who were asses or just blah didn't get much from me, too much of a waste of my time.

thats sweet you used to hook people up though, and the guy did seem to take extra care when working on my car :) i sincerely appreciated him for that and i thanked him more times than i can remember.

ha ha, all they do is FOOOK up my wheels when I need tires. that's the one thing I can't do by myself - balance tires - so it means I have to let someone else touch my car *gasp* when I need tires/balancing. they always scratch up the rims and crap, half the time mount the tire the wrong direction or even the wheels the wrong direction (my enkei's are directional.) and my yoko's are running pretty thin now so it's almost that time again

Some wheels are designed to produce a negative pressure behind them to encourage cooling of the brakes via airflow. It seems pointless to me, though, as using the brakes would reduce the airflow used to cool the brakes. :shrug

I guess if you are repeatedly going from 120-0, it would come in handy.

it probably isn't as pointless as Mugen CF-48s

...supposedly the ugliness helps to cool the brakes down and acts as a heat sink. I call bullshit. if this actually worked, then real race cars would be using them right now.
