Hi
i have a set of 17" enkei RF-1's on my 95 eclipse.

I dont know if anyone else with Enkei wheels has had this problem, but the hardware (lugnuts ) that came with my enkei's are prone to cracking.
they are an aboslutely bitch to get off once they're cracked.
its happened to me several times already . . .

can anyone suggest a possible solution to this problem?
(btw: yes alot of the time i think its been due to shop's using impact wrenchs on my wheels. but for the past while, i've been using a torque wrench and tightening them up to spec.)

recommend any other brand of lugnuts + key to use on enkei;'s?

Hey what's up! I have 17" Enkei RF-1's on my eclipse too (great choice you made =)

Anyway, I use 'Guerrilla' brand lug nuts I believe. They are great, I havent had a problem with these yet.

I used to have a problem with another set of wheels I owned where the tire-people would over torque the guns and over thread my lug screws until the lug had to actually be broken off. Greese monkeys sure love torque. I recomend doing as much wheel related stuff yourself. Save a few bucks and keeps the nimrod's away from your DSM.

can u tell me where u purchased ur guerilla lug nuts?

also, how did the shop break off the lug nut?
it seems to be such a hassle for most shops i bring it to, they simply dont want to do the work cuz its painful

To break of the threaded nut, you have to get your lug wrench and twiste until the lug and the lug screw break off, and then you gotta get new ones installed. I suggest you get some new screws from the junk yward before you do this though.

I bought my lugs throut discounttiredirect.com tell them you need lugs to fit which wheel you have, they'll know which ones to get.
