Hey guys, I'm looking at a set of Motegi DPK 18x8 rims with 40mm offset.

Now I've got my car sitting on coilovers and they are maxed all the way....so about 3-4 inches dropped.

I know they'll fit the car, but I'd like to know if I'll need to raise it to fit these on. So far all I can find is people that have "rolled" the fenders and cut the quarter panels...which I DO NOT want to do.

Also, I'm thinking of going 225/40/18s and was thinking Bridgestones.

Any suggestions would be appreiacted.

I wouldn't get anything motegi with a chrome lip. We've put some on our scions at work, and the clear coat has peeled off everyone of them. If the whole rim is chrome, for some reason, then it's fine. I would imagine you would have to raise it up some to answer your question.

just FYI that is not the 1998 Eclipse bumper on your car...
you will definitely need to raise it up. lowered 3 to 4 inches is ridiculous. you could do it, but you would have problems with rubbing over bumps most certainly. I would recommend you lower your car no more then 2.5" at the very most.

Ya, I know it's a stock 95/96 Talon bumper...my Acura EL (Cnd car only) loving friend who posted it on that site 4 years ago still hasn't changed it.

Having it dropped 4" isn't crazy..it's been like that for 4 years with 1G Tsi 16" wheels, and never has a problem.

But now that I want to go 18's I don't want to risk damaging the wheels or the tires....and ofcourse not the car.

did you actually get a measurement of 4" cause that car don't look lowered 4" imo. Also, 4" is an extreme drop. I hope you have a camber kit.

Those pics are just after I got it, it's about a 2" drop there.
I've maxed the coils out since then and they are suppose to be 0-4" so I'm assuming it's a 4" drop.

and yes it has a camaber kit.

the 420a has 140hp not 160hp just fyi.
