Alright, so I was putting on the ingall shim kit today and when I to put the bolts back on, one of them wouldnt tighten. So I looked at the hole that is goes into, and the first half was stripped.
The only thing that I could think of was to push hard and hope that it caught a thread. But that didnt work. Iam thinking about use a self tapping screw to make new thread, but dont want to mess anything up. Anyone have any ideas? Hope that all made sense.

that seems to be all you really can do IMO...you could try to tap it out for a bigger bolt, but thats more work then what you are talking.

are the threads on the bolt messed up, the threads in the hole, or both, sounds like it would be both at this point. I'd suggest getting a new bolt and a tap for that thread pitch and diameter, run the tap through there and straighten out the threads and install the new bolt. if it still does not work, then get a bigger tap, a bigger bolt, and your done

The bolt was a litte messed up but I was able to use it in another hole, but yes the first half of one hole was stripped.

I thought of that. I looked for taps everywhere and they really only make standard taps and nothing big enough for this bolt. But I talked to my automotive instructor and he said to use this stuff call "heala core" I think thats what its called. So Iam going to see if that would work.

Use a heli-coil brand helical insert, it will make the threads stronger they were originally.

As of right now, Iam calling around machine shops to see if they can repair it.
