25871, Get a grip!!
Posted by TXTurboGS, Dec-11-04 01:32 PM
When my car was running, and I had about 330WHP, I had many traction issues. I put in the Quaife TBD, and it helped a bit. I also have some Tein SS coilovers, I'll adjust those later.

Is there anything else I can add to get more grip? What else should I add to make the chassis stiffer and to add traction.

i think once you start getting up into those HP ranges in our front wheel drive cars, driving skills are the name of the game... just trying to keep it at that point just shy of breaking loose is where its at...

What kind of boost controller are you running?

Greddy Profec E 01. You mean to set boot st 8psi for first gear and increase as gears increase too? I thought about that.

Also, I know there are some items I can add. I cannot recall their names but they sounded like tie rods, or lower control arms, or some shit like that. I am sure there is something that can be done to stiffen the car up and make the wheels get more grip.

A friend has an LS Integra with a turbo, he had some stuff in his suspension that would push the tires down as traction decreased. Any idea of what it might be?

Poly Motor mounts and suspension bushings and say bye bye to wheel hop....

I have no issues with wheelhop. I have a Quaife TBD, or LSD, or however you want to call it. I have prothane inserts and the front motormount is a solid one from AFX. I will also upgrade to energy suspension bushings, but I'm I missing something?

Slicks I will run at the track, but not every day, LOL. I guess my main question was about any aparatus like a strut tower or similar that would increase traction, much like the device my friend uses (I would ask him but he is unreachable at the moment). I know the struts are not for that, but in my mind I have a mental image of how it might look. I dont know, maybe I'm allucinating and obsesed with my car. Either way, let me know. tHanks

I have a set of polished aluminum strut tower braces, both front an rear. Let me know if you are interested!
